Tugce Izci is a MSc student at Linköping University – Statistics & Machine Learning. Her interests are Linear Algebra and Machine Learning. In order to have more experience from practical cases and be part of new developments, she registered for internship through Jobbsprånget. As outcome she could join Alminica AB and Zinnova AB which are part of Ulrika Innovation Ecosystem.

Tugce will share her journey and reflect on the future. Tugce Izci performed International Projects at Universities (Yale, Northwestern, ETH Zurich, Czech Tech., Urbino.) She will present what she is involved in now about research and lecturing.

In research, Tugce Izci is involved in ongoing research about an offline and resource efficient computer vision algorithm designed to detect and classify Malaria parasites in digital images of thick blood smears. The algorithm was implemented in an Android mobile app. She will also present a new research avenue about Raman scattering applications in Malaria and cancer diagnosis using AI and ML methods.

She has teaching experience through mathematics in higher education with young generation since 2017. She is working on lecturing and training regarding Linear Algebra and Machine Learning.

The idea of sharing experiences and visions is that there can be new exchange. In such way personal networks are broadened and opportunities will be created by the interaction.
