Impact and business of advanced materials research | summer 2024
In this workshop we will provide basic understanding on how to position your advanced materials research for impact and business.
This is for researchers who want to understand how to demonstrate the realistic usefulness of their research. The workshop will share experiences and practices on relevant ways to show how the research will create real impact and business opportunities.
WHY: For a research career it is no longer sufficient to have nice publications. Funding increasingly requires motivations on how the research will be useful. Publishing and patents are weak motivations because that is not really impact. Even if you have nice papers and patent in a topic, then it is not an answer to how your research will come to real usefulness.
HOW: Realistic motivations of impact and business are central to have the future career as researcher. There are various ways about showing the impact and coming business. At this workshop you will get basic understanding from 20 years of experience by Dr. Mikael Syväjärvi.
